MODCOMP was a small minicomputer vendor that speciallized in real-time applications. They were founded in 1970 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and many of their early sales were for tracking and data collection from NASA space probes. In the 1990s they started an effort to use web-based "front-ends" to their legacy systems, and later made that a major part of the business adapting other people's systems. In 1996, MODCOMP had $36.7 million in sales, and were purchased by CSPI.
