Just a thought: This article seems written from the perspective of a techie. Instead of categorizing incomplete lists of graphics apps according to their technical underpinnings of raster or vector, it might be more useful to mention broad categories of graphics tools and how they're used; for instance, illustration, page layout, painting, 3D, animation, CAD, motion, GIS, interactive, Web design, special effects, photo/image processing, etc. Besides, many current generation graphics apps blur the distinction between vector and raster by incorporating elements of both (or, for that matter, neither). I certainly wouldn't eliminate an explanation of the differences between raster- and vector-based apps, because it is important, but maybe it shouldn't constitute the undepinnings of the article. I hesitate, however, to make these kinds of basic changes to an article that's had so many contributors without first asking opinions. Maylett 19:34, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
