The Intel Advanced Vector Extensions is a new set of SIMD instructions announced by Intel at the Spring Intel Developer Forum in April 2008.

Those instructions will appear on the processor lineup of 2010 and will be an extension to the current SSE featuring 256 bit wide instructions.
