A voting method is a physical method by which an electorate votes. It is a distinct concept from a voting system (how votes are aggregated to yield the result) or voting basis (the percentage of votes required for election or adoption of a proposal). A plurality voting system, for instance, can be implemented using many voting methods, such as a secret ballot, or touch screen voting machines. Similarly, in a secret society, a voting system requiring unanimity can be implemented using black and white balls or a voice vote, etc. Likewise, the voice vote method can implement any number of voting bases, such as majority, two-thirds vote, etc.
