Object-oriented programming language developed by Microsoft Corporation as part of their .NET initiative.


Designed in the tradition of C++ and thought to be influenced by Java.


Submitted to the ECMA for formal standardization. However, many computer professionals believe that Microsoft will, sooner or later, embrace, extend and extinguish the standard as they have done with other standards before.
