Joint constraints
Appearance
A rotational constraint on the joint of a bone system, used in inverse kinematics chains in computer animation. Joint constraints can be implemented in a number of ways, but the most common method is to limit rotation about the X, Y and Z axis independently.
To simulate joint constrains more accurately, one could use dot-products and independent axis to repulse the child bones orientation from the axis, or a set of axis, or to limit the orientation of the child bone to a border of constraint on the ball of the joint, useful in the restriction of shoulder movement.--Rofthorax 07:49, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
