Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter is an American businessman and financier. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Marvel Comics since January 1, 2005.[1]

Background and education

Isaac Perlmutter is of Jewish-American ethnic background.

Career

Isaac Perlmutter had been a member of the Board of Directors of Marvel Comics since April 1993 and was Chairman of the Board of Directors until March 1995.[1]

Isaac Perlmutter also was the owner of Toy Biz. When [[Marvel Comics went bankrupt in 1996, protracted legal battles over control of the company followed between Avi Arad, Carl Icahn, and Isaac Perlmutter. By 1997, Arad and Perlmutter had established control over the company, pushing out Icahn.

In November 2001, Perlmutter became Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marvel.[1] He became the Chief Executive Officer of Marvel Comics on January 1, 2005.[1]
