Needs improvement

I'm glad to see an article covering this topic, and I was surprised to find it orphaned (until now). It needs a reference to Weiser's work, which I don't have offhand. BTW: This technique has received recent attention in the area of Software Evolution, which places the topic of software maintenance into a formal model. Vonkje 18:46, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Program slicing vs Static slicing

Program slicing is:

  • a simpler term than static analysis,
  • the original term coined by Weiser,
  • by far the more used name of this technique (you can ask Google),
  • and IMO if we thought of 'static' in the sense used in static analysis, what would be its counterpart?

That's why I propose to rename this article Program slicing. --Mickaël Delahaye (talk) 16:08, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
