Shane's Chess Information Database (SCID) is a free Windows and Linux database application for viewing and maintaining databases of chess games. It supports Portable game notation and its own SCID database format. It is currently usable and in active development.

History

Development began on August 6, 2003. The first beta version, 1.0, was released on December 10, 2003. The first final version, 2.0, was released on May 6, 2004. As of June, 2005, the current release version is 3.0 and the current beta version is 3.1.
