In IBM mainframe computing, a Logical Partition, commonly called an LPAR, is a virtualized computing environment abstracted from all physical devices. in zSeries systems, LPARs are hosted by a Sysplex or Parallel Sysplex.

The LPAR concept is offered in zSeries and eSeries IBM systems, and can also be used by AIX and Linux.
