Encyclopedia of Life kicks off, Wikipedia an inspiration

A few days ago, on February 26, the online encyclopedia Encyclopedia of Life went live. This website is a free online encyclopedia intended to document the 1.8 million species known to man. On opening day, the EOL recieved over 11 million views, shutting it down. During the day on February 28, it went back up.
