Truth and Method is the major work of Hans-George Gadamer, first published in 1963.

The book draws heavily on the work of William Dilthey, and hermeneutics . It rejects as unachievable the goal of objectivity, and instead suggests that meaning is created intersubjectively.

Impact

The book is regarded as Gadamer's magnum opus, and has influenced many philosophers, notably Jurgen Habermas
