Agressive minesweepers

mine sweepers have been in operation since the first world war. at first paeple had to walk with a large metal detectors in front of them, which was a very dangerous job, as apart from the threat of blowing up, the mine sweepers were also coming under heavy fire from the enemy. Mine sweepers were greatly admired along the ranks becuase of there bravery. In modern days minesweeping is done by robots, to minimalise the risk of human casualties. Aggresive minesweepers explode the bomb, instead of disarming it. This can be much quicker and safer, as there is not the risk that it will blow up later. Naval mine sweepers are utilised greatly now. The royal navy of the UK use small submarines that are controlled from wireless operators, onboard the several minesweeping frigates that it possesses. The Swedish produce a robotic SAM. This is a Self propelled acoustic magnetic minesweeper. The SAM proved its worth during 'operation desert storm', when it was succesfully used for minesweeping by the US navy. They are currently in service with the Swedish navy, the Japanese navy and the US navy. See also
