Currently, ArbCom grant checkuser right to individuals on a one to one basis. This is done in a behind-the-scenes fashion, with no accountability on how they chose the individual, or why they were chosen. There is not a chance for the community they serve to express any concerns or opinions about the user in question being granted the right. This is a proposal for more accountability in appointing the checkuser right, by having a community discussion, instead of a quiet hidden discussion between arbitrators.

If you think someone deserves checkuser right, you can nominate them below. Their candidacy can then be discussed. Access can only be granted by a steward. Users nominated must be 18 years or older, and be willing to identify themselves to the Wikimedia Foundation.
