MacTech is the journal of Macintosh technology. A monthly magazine for "geeks" on the Apple Macintosh line of computers. It also runs articles about Mac software development in general, and about information technology subjects, intended for system administrators who work with Macintoshes.

The magazine was called "MacTech" for its first two issues, starting in 1984, then changed its name to MacTutor; at the time it defined itself as "a technical publication devoted to advancing programming knowledge of the Macintosh for both hacker and professional alike". It changed its name back to "MacTech" in 1993.

MacTech Magazine is the only monthly magazine focused on Macintosh technology. Distributed in over 60 countries, MacTech in print and on the web is read by over 125,000 technical Macintosh users ... from network administrators to programmers, from solution providers to Enterprise, and in general anyone that's interested in the Macintosh beyond the user level.

MacTech also provides a news aggregator service. MacTech Central is an area of the MacTech web site showcasing those companies that are most serious about the Mac technical market providing an array of technical products and services.

The magazine is privately owned, held by Xplain Corporation.
