This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Hodja Nasreddin (talk | contribs) at 16:05, 24 December 2007 (moved SRP receptor to Signal recognition particle receptor). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

SRP receptor also called docking protein, is a dimer composed of 2 different subunits that are associated exclusively with the rough ER in mammalian cells. Its main function is to identify the SRP units. SRP (signal recognition particle) is a molecule that helps the ribosome-mRNA-polypeptide complexes to settle down on the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum.
