Wikitank (talk · contribs) - I chose to nominate Wikitank because he is one of the most dedicated new editors we have. He strives to make quality edits, not just minor pointless edits. In particular he created a well-cited and well-made article on the topic of Pirate Radio USA. He has a broad knowledge base and I know he would be a great addition to Wikipedia's team of administrators. Meph456 (talk) 04:37, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

I, Wikitank, hereby accept this nomination.
Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: Well, to start I just want to do everyday minor edits like facts, grammar, inserting template messages, needing citations, sentence structure and the like. But on a grander scale, I see it as essential that I use my power for solving disputes, and helping with needed deletions, creations, or merges, etc. I will do my best to be involved with any problems any user may encounter, including regularly checking stub categories (Category:Stub categories), stubs, and Articles for deletion. Too many administrators don't fully use their power to make changes and I think I will be strongest int his area. I am also an appropriate candidate because I'm not a maniacal deletionist nor do I believe that every single article should have its own page. I am a mergist to the core which is really what Wikipedia is about. I won't just delete something because it's nominated for deletion. I will analyze it, and try to find a sustainable solution, such as merging to a parent article.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best and most significant contribution is far and away creating Pirate Radio USA. It's a very decent article on a film very few people have seen. I decided that if I didn't create an article on it, who would? It's a combination of my interest in preserving lesser known and more independent articles and interests as well as still working on mainstream articles. It's dedication to British Sea Power but also Collapse of Communism, that wide range of coverage and knowledge. I am always willing to grow from Wikipedia and never be condescending or arrogant.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Obviously, like any established editor, I have had multiple edit battles with multiple edit reverts. I really like the three-revert rule but normally, being someone who likes to use compromises (since it is a collaborative effort after all) I haven't had to be in any edit WARS. As I said, only BATTLES. I can handle stress quite well and am more than capable of taking a Wikibreak if necessary. Again, the only real time I will lash out is if there is repeated vandalism, in which case my adminship will be a useful tool for banning their account from editing.
