The purpose of this article is to create an introductory fork of virus. While I appreciate the author's intention of making the subject more accessible, it's not Wikipedia practice to fork off articles in this manner. However, I wanted to start an AfD on the article rather than re-deleting it in order to invite community input and suggestions on how this material can be integrated elsewhere -- like I said, I appreciate the desire to make articles more readable. - Delete, spinning off the intro to its own page is unnecessary and actually quite confusing. Ten Pound Hammer • (Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 04:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keep and improve. We actually have a whole group of these, e.g. introduction to general relativity, and there's even a template {{introduction}}. --Dhartung | Talk 04:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Bangs head on desk - I had no idea. Well, while I still think the best course of action would be to improve upon the readability of the original articles rather than spinning off introductions, it's clear that there's a precedence for this, and that was my main objection. Thanks for correcting me. Withdraw nomination. Tijuana Brass (talk) 04:20, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
