Wikipedia is based on consensus, and complete disrespect for this process is detrimental to the mental health of the community. The right approach is to ask other editors to weigh in on the situation.

The 5 Reversion Rule

If your edits to a page is reverted by five different editors, stop editing that article and discuss the issue on the talk page. Continued editing, in spite of being reverted 5 times by different editors, may result in a ban.
