Talk:New International Version Inclusive Language Edition
Appearance
A statement added to the article was, “It was subject to accusations that it (NIVI) distorted biblical teaching”. I looked at the article referenced and I could not ascertain how this statement was pulled from it. The referenced article is on the Christians For Biblical Equality website written by Craig L. Blomberg. Can someone help me to understand what the accusations were in reference to distorting biblical teaching? I'm not seeing it. The article is here. - Sorry, I looked at the linked article briefly and assumed it covered the criticisms. Instead it just answers (some of) them. A quick google search turned up lots of hits. A good place to start is here http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2002/april1/10.30.html . I'll see if I can find more. Personally, I found the attacks quite shameful - highlighting a few instances where inclusive language might mislead, and ignoring the hundreds where non-inclusive language misleads.
