One Man Wrecking Machine is the 4th song off of Guster's 2006 album Ganging Up On The Sun.
The song was included for the soundtrack to the 2007 movie Disturbia, and was played at the closing scene.
The puppets used in the song's video directed by Drew Lightfoot are made by Toronto-based Monster Factory. The main character, Kevin, went on to be the Monster Factory's best-selling Monsters to date.
Song meaning
Guster tends not to directly reveal the meanings of their songs, preferring instead to let the listener derive their own meaning, but the song is described as "being out of high school, but wanting to relive all your memories from the past."[1]
-Guster likes to say it a one man wrecking machine in most of its songs. If you listen closely most of them say it. This is there life motto and they base a lot of life descions on this saying. In 2006 they finally decided to create a song for it.
