Following the guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera#Categories, all of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas are categorized as follows:
- Category:Operas by Gilbert and Sullivan
- Category:English-language operas
- Category:Comic operas
- Category:Operas
The operas that Arthur Sullivan wrote with other librettists, except for Ivanhoe, are categorized as follows:
- Category:Operas by Arthur Sullivan
- Category:English-language operas
- Category:Comic operas
- Category:Operas
The exception is Ivanhoe, which is categorized in Category:Romantic opera, rather than in Category:Comic operas.
The operas that W. S. Gilbert wrote with other composers are categorized as follows:
- Category:Works by W. S. Gilbert
- Category:English-language operas
- Category:Comic operas
- Category:Operas
