Spring Axis Struts and Hibernate are four of the most popular open source Java projects[1],[2],[3], often known as and distributed under the acronym "SASH".

Taken together, these projects are used in an increasing number of large applications at Global 2000 companies, as well as by individual developers and smaller websites and companies. [4]

Spring is a Java/J2EE application framework that assembles components via configuration files.
