This page needs to be edited to remove confusion between IP and TCP/IP. It should probably be renamed IP and information specific to TCP moved to a separate page. Remember that TCP and IP are separate protocols, and that you can run things other than TCP over IP (e.g. UDP and ICMP) and that you can at least in theory run TCP over protocols other than IP. -- poslfit

There is already an article on IP called Internet Protocol. If you want to rearrange things more logically you are free to do so. --Zundark, 2002 Jan 5
