Wikipedia:Developers

Wikipedia developers have direct access to the code. They can also run SQL queries that directly change the database (as opposed to Wikipedia:Administrators). Currently, sysop promotion has to be done "by hand" via a SQL query; note that developers have GREAT POWER but are trusted not to confuse this with HIGHER AUTHORITY.

From SELECT user_name from user where user_rights like "%developer%", the SQL query to find developers, the developers are currently:

• Brion VIBBER - first among equals
• Ed Poor - pain in the neck
• Eloquence - first name is Erik
• Jimbo Wales - owns the website
• Lee Daniel Crocker - haven't seen him around much lately
• Magnus Manske - quiet but packs a wallop
• Tim Starling - nice guy, once you get to know him
• Marumari - strong silent type
