First OOXML ISO Standardization Ballot Results
As an ISO external Category A liaison, ECMA submitted Ecma 376 to the ISO Fast Track process, the same process available to National Standard Organizations. To meet the requirements of this process, Ecma have submitted the documents "Explanatory report on Office Open XML Standard (Ecma-376) submitted to JTC 1 for fast-track" and "Licensing conditions that Microsoft offers for Office Open XML". For the measure to pass 2/3rd's of 'P members' must approve and less than 1/4 of all voting national members must disapprove. The balloting shows 53% approval by 'P members' and 26% disapproval from the total votes.
