Brian Fox was the original author, in 1987, of the Bash shell, an open-source Unix command line interface distributed by the Free Software Foundation. (The current developer and maintainer is Chet Ramey of Case Western Reserve University.) Fox is also the author of GNU components makeinfo, info, finger, and readline.
