Shortcut

As Wikipedia has grown, thousands of templates have been created. Some of these templates have been superseded by newer templates, other templates have simply been orphaned or deprecated. In order to cleanup the Template namespace and remove unused templates, this subpage has been created. The templates listed here would be burdensome and unnecessary if listed on Templates for deletion. Instead, this process has been established to ensure that templates are deleted in an orderly and systematic manner without damaging any part of Wikipedia.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

  1. This page is only for templates that would unquestionably qualify for WP:CSD#G6.
  2. This page is not a deletion process; it is simply a way to aggregate templates that can be deleted.

Process

  1. Add {{deprecated|date=May 1, 2025}} to the deprecated template. Be sure that you do not place the code inside of a set of <noinclude> tags.
  2. Notify the original author of the template that the template has been marked for impending deletion.
  3. If after two weeks there has been absolutely no objection, delete the template.

Exemptions

  1. Any stub template, including stub redirects, is exempt from this process.
