Final Approach (ふぁいなる・あぷろーち) is a visual novel that has been adapted into an anime designed by Ibe Yukiko. Final Approach is about two orphans whose lives become complicated when the government forces one into marriage. A sequel with different characters called Finalist has been released, each of the female characters were designed by different character artists.

Storyline

Ever since their parents died a few years ago, Ryo and his sister Akane have been living alone together. Despite their difficult situation they are still living reasonably happy and normal lives, however everything is about to be flipped upside-down due to a secret government project. Due to increasingly low birth rates in Japan, the Japanese government is testing a program in which two young people are forced to marry. Ryo wants no part of it, but he is given little choice in the matter; his new fiancée, Shizuka, comes to his home late one night with several dozen government issued bodyguards, who are there to ensure the success of the new couple. Unlike Ryo, Shizuka couldn’t be more willing to go along with this new program, and eagerly goes about her wifely duties, despite his objections. With meddling friends, pushy bodyguards, and an overenthusiastic new fiancée, Ryo’s life has taken a turn in a direction the young man certainly didn’t expect.

Main characters

Ryo is a teenage boy in the 11th grade. He and his sister Akane have been living togather since they were little. When Shizuka came telling Ryo that she was his fiancée. He refused to marry her. Shizuka kept following him even during school since she transfeer into the 11th grade. In a way to make Shizuka leave her started dating Emiho. But SHizuka was okay with it eventhough everyone around her besides Ryo noticed she was trying to be strong. To "take care" of Ryo she spied on Emiho and Ryo. Even though Shizuka had no bad intentions Ryo blame her and ingore her like she didn't exsite. Until Shizuka gave in and cried Ryo stoped ingoring her. Ryo stoped dating Emiho around the end to the series. But still had no feelings for Shizuka until the last 2 episodes.

Shizuka is the fiancée of Ryo.(even though he does not like the idea)She is in the 10th grade but she used poltical power to transfer herself to Ryo's class. When Ryo strated dating Emiho she was acting like she was okay with it although she was really sad. Shizuka was Ryo fiancée because of the childbrith program and for another reason that involed her grandfather. When her grandfather was young her felling love with a woman from a lower class so they could not marry. Instead he married the woman his family picked. he fell in love with his wife and forgot about the woman from the lower class.When his wife died he started remebering the woman. So he did some resech and found out she had already pasted but found out that she had two grandchildren close to his grandchild (whicih was Ryo and Akane). the reason Shizuka didn't tell Ryo about the story was because she tought she would pity her. Shizuka fell in love with Ryo and didn't care if her pityed herr or not. In the end Ryo fell in love to and chased after her when she left.

Final Approach has 13 episodes,with each episode lasting around 12 minutes (including the opening and the ending, making the episode about 9 minutes or so.)
