Multisync often refers to a MultiSync monitor that can synchronise with a different horizontal and vertical refresh frequencies without overheating its internal power supply. Which can happen if protection circuits isn't present. [1]

This is in contrast to the fixed frequency monitors that can only synchronise with a specific horizontal and vertical frequency. This kind of monitor was often used on Sun machines.
