Multisync often refers to a MultiSync monitor that can synchronise with a different horisontal and vertical refresh frequencies. And this without overheating it's internal power supply.

This is in contrast to the fixed frequency monitors that can only synchronise with a specific horisontal and vertical frequency. This kind of monitor was often used on Sun machines.
