2007 Shanghai Masters

The 2007 Shanghai Masters is the inaugural event of the Shanghai Masters tournament. Taking place between the 6th and the 12th of August 2007, with the final to be held on the latter, it contests the top 16 snooker players in the world along with another 16 qualifiers.

The tournament currently takes place at the Shanghai Grand Stage, Shanghai and is the first ranking event of the season.

Notable happenings

  • Ronnie O'Sullivan withdrew from the event due to back problems that prevented him from travelling or playing.[1]

Qualifying for the Shanghai Masters took place at Pontin's Prestatyn, Wales from 26 to 29 June 2007.
