Prehistoric plants are various groups of plants that lived before recorded history. (Around 3500 BC).
Plants have remained remarkedly unchanged thoughout earth's geological time scale. Early ferns had developed by the Mississippian. Conifer trees by the Pensylvanian. Many plants of prehistory are the same ones around today, such as the famous Ginkgo biloba and Chinese Dawn redwood.
