C ,C++,Java,C#,JavaScript, ActionScript, ECMAScript

Which of these would be considered dialects of each other?

My opinion: only ActionScript/JavaScript/ECMAScript are dialects of each other. The others are all well defined languages in their own right. --IanOsgood 21:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Use of the word 'newbie'

I noticed in the last part of the (actually quite short) article there is the use of the word newbie to define those individuals who are new to programming. Is this word really appropriate?
