KAOS (software development)

KAOS, is a goal-oriented software requirement capturing approach in requirements engineering. It allows for requirements to be calculated from goal diagrams. KAOS stands for Knowledge Acquisition in automated specification[1] or Keep All Objects Satisfied[2].

The University of Oregon and the University of Louvain (Belgium) designed the KAOS methodology in 1990. It is now widely taught worldwide at the university level and is a software industry de-facto standard for capturing software requirements.
