Inside I'm Dancing (also known as Rory O'Shea Was Here) is a film that was released in 2004. It was directed by Damien O'Donnell (East is East).

The production was filmed in Dublin and Wicklow, and involved production companies Working Title Films and StudioCanal with assistance from Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board.

Plot

Michael is a 24-year-old who has cerebral palsy and long-term resident of the Carrigmore Residential Home for the Disabled, run by the formidable Eileen. His life is transformed when the maverick Rory O'Shea, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, moves in. Michael is stunned to discover that fast talking Rory, who can move only his right hand, can understand his almost unintelligible speech. Rory's dynamic and rebellious nature soon sparks a flame in Michael, introducing him to a whole new world outside of Carrigmore.

Film Cover

One of the Film Cover boxes includes a quote by Empire Magazine which reads:

It just goes to show that British films are always the best!

The film is in fact Irish and has been directed by an Irishman, as well as a predominately Irish cast. Suggesting it is a British film is an insult of the highest order.
