Computational cognition

To make cognition computable, the following tasks should be addressed first:

  • How to defind the states and the metric systems of cogniton;
  • How to measure a cognition.

In 2004, Tao Yang suggested a way to put cognition into a framework that is dual to the Universe. He called such a framework the Cognition, and called the indispensible Universe-Cognition pair the Unicogse. The theory of the Unicogse provides a way to assign "measuable" means to the fundations of cognition; namely, information and truth. Information plays the same role in the Cognition as the role matters play in the Universe. While truth plays to same role as energy in the Universe.

By doing so, one can expect to measure truth and information in the Cognition just like we do for energy and matters in the Universe. This is a smart way to make Cognition "measuable".

There is one journal dedicate to the theory of computational cognition: International Journal of Computational Cognition which is established in 2003.
