collaborative real-time editing online is the simultaneous edting of a text by different participants from different internet-accounts. To enable it you need a programm. Such are:

To open a text-page you run the respective client-programm and first log into a server, then into a page. Now you can write on the page like in any regular text-processor. Depending on the number of participants in the editing-session you see several cursors on the text field. The collunm Users shows you who else is loged in the page. Changes of the cursor positions and entered text are visible to all participants in real-time. Every participant can change the text whenever and whereever.
