Priority encoder

I want to add a bit about a priority encoder, but this page needs a bit more explanation that I don't have time to write right now. A priority encoder is an encoder for which some inputs take priority over other inputs. For example, with inputs a, b, c and d, if a is 1, then a priority encoder might disregard the inputs b, c, and d. A priority is assigned to each input so that when two or more inputs are simultaneously active, the input with the highest priority is represented on the output. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fresheneesz (talkcontribs) 06:58, 13 Mar 2006 (UTC)
