World Tenpin Masters
The World Tenpin Masters is an annual Ten-pin bowling tournament. It consists of a single lane surrounded by banked seating on both sides to give the event the kind of high-pressure atmosphere that makes the Masters the world’s leading televised bowling tournament.
The event is televised by Matchroom Sport Television and will be subsequently broadcast as 15 x 1 hour programmes both at home on Sky Sports and around the world.
History
It is second to and starts where the Weber Cup left off. It features 16 of the world’s best bowlers, representing twelve different countries, going head-to-head in a straight knockout format. Each match is played over two games with the bowler with the highest aggregate (highest total pinfall) over the two games determining the winner and proceeding. It stands next to the Weber Cup and AMF World Cup as one of the world’s largest annual international sports Ten-pin bowling championships in terms of number of participating nations.

2007 Tournament
The 2007 World Tenpin Masters was held at the Barnsley Metrodome from April 20 to April 22 and featured 16 of the top male and female bowlers from around the world, including three previous winners.
Reigning champion Chris Barnes (USA), returned to defend his title, while Tore Torgersen (Norway), who has won the competition three times, and 2005 champion Jens Nickel (Germany) were also invited.
Elsewhere, Remy Ong (Singapore), rated at number one in the men's Asian rankings and twice World Tenpin Masters Runner-up Paul Moor, from England, who scored a perfect 300 game at the Weber Cup in October, and is the European Bowling Tour champion, also took part.
Two bowlers selected for the first time, who enjoyed fantastic seasons in 2006 were Finland's Osku Palermaa and American Diandra Asbaty. Palermaa and Asbaty are the current holders of the World Bowlers Writers Bowler Of The Year male and female title respectively.
England's Darren Cundy, also played for the first time, by securing the only qualifying place by winning the Premier Tenpin Bowling Club Masters earlier in the year.
