A version of Windows codenamed Eiger was announced by Microsoft in mid 2005 for use in older computers.

It is belived that this will be in direct competion against Linux based thin clients. The OS is said to be based on Windows XP SP2 but will be trimmed down to run on slower computers. It will not support 802.11 or dial up
