The Russian Research Module (RM) was to be a Russian element of the International Space Station (ISS) that provided facilities for Russian experiments and research. There was planned be one RM on the ISS.

One Research Module and the Universal Docking Module had already been cancelled.

The Research Module was planned to be built and launched in 2010 or later. The Universal Docking Module will be replaced by the Multipurpose Laboratory Module (built from the FGB-2 Zarya backup), which will be launched in 2009.

The RM was previously listed as "under review" on the ISS launch manifest before its cancellation.

It's replacement, the Russian Docking and Cargo Module (DCM) will be launched in 2010 onboard the Shuttle.
