Channel Codes

In a wireless network following the IEEE 802.11 specifications, the channel code is shared by the wireless router and any computers or other nodes in the network. In the United States and Canada, the channel numbers range from 1 to 11, and in Great Britain and Japan, from 1 to 13. These channels overlap eachother because of the DSSS technology, so channels 1 and 2 have some shared frequencies. This can cause harmful interference, loss of data sent, connection problems, and a drop in speed.
