Computer skills

Computer skills refer to one's ability to utilize the software (and sometimes hardware) of a computer.

They include:

Basic computer skills

• Knowing how to switch on the computer
• Being able to use a mouse to interact with elements on the screen
• Being able to use the computer keyboard
• Being able to close down the computer after use

Intermediate skills include being able to use the following

• Word processor
• e-mail
• Spreadsheets
• Databases
• Use the internet

Advanced skills include

• Programming
• Use of computer for scientific research
