Box model
Appearance
Box models are simplified versions of complex systems, reducing them to reservoirs linked by flows. This state of complexity allows computational estimates of their steady state to be attained within a realistic timescale.
They are used extensively in studies of ocean circulation and the carbon cycle.[1]
