Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts is an American country band composed of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney.

Group History

Rascal Flatts has released four full length albums to date, as well as a live album. The group was also on the soundtrack for the Disney movie Cars singing "Life is a Highway" (the song originally written and performed by Tom Cochrane).

"I Melt" controversy

Rascal Flatts achieved notoriety in 2003 with their music video for the single "I Melt". Some fans objected to the video (which starred band member Joe Don Rooney and model Christina Auria) because it contained brief nudity; these fans wanted the video banned from CMT and Great American Country. Eventually, an edited version of the video was released, with the inappropriate parts blurred out. The video is no longer aired on CMT Canada, because of the nudity. [1]

Videography

To date, most of Rascal Flatts' singles have also featured a music video. These music videos are shown on CMT, GAC, and CMT Canada. "Life Is a Highway", which was not officially a country single, also featured a video.

Also, three album cuts have been made into music videos: "My Worst Fear" (from Melt), "Here's To You" (from Feels Like Today), and "He Ain't the Leaving Kind" (from Me and My Gang). In addition, the videos for "Bless the Broken Road", "Me and My Gang", and "Here's To You" were shot live in concert.
