Sarah Semple
Sarah Semple (born July 1973[1]) is a British archaeologist and academic, specialising in the early medieval period, landscape archaeology and material culture of northwest Europe. Having worked at St Cross College, Oxford and the University of Chester, she has taught at the University of Durham since 2006.[2][3]
In 2024, she was awarded the Landscape Archaeology Medal by the British Academy.[4] In July 2025, she was elected Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities and the social sciences.[5]
