Sölvesborg medium wave transmitter is a radio station situated outside Sölvesborg in the southern part of Sweden and was inaugurated May 30 1985. The station broadcasts the programs of Radio Sweden International on 1179 kHz.

Technical data

The scenery is dominated by two steel lattice towers, 135 metres high and situated close to the beach, thus providing optimal earthing characteristics, something which is necessary for a good coverage on these frequencies. The transmitter has a radiated effect (ERP) of 600 kW. The antenna has optimal directional characteristics in 70 and 270 degrees.
