Biology
Pythonidae
Pythonidae refers to a family of nonvenomous constrictor snakes native to Africa, Asia, and Australia. This family includes some of the largest snakes in the world, such as the reticulated python, known for its remarkable length, and the ball python, commonly kept as a pet. The family comprises a variety of species that use constriction to kill their prey. The majority of pythons are terrestrial, though some are arboreal, inhabiting both tropical and subtropical climates.
Python (Genus)
The genus Python is a part of the larger Pythonidae family and includes several species of large constrictor snakes found mainly in Africa and Asia. Notable species within this genus include the reticulated python (Python reticulatus), which holds the title of the longest snake in the world, and the Burmese python (Python bivittatus), a species that has also become invasive in certain parts of the United States. These snakes are primarily known for their strength and ability to subdue large prey through constriction.
Python (Mythology)
