WikiProject Data Visualization is a WikiProject about datagraphics on Wikipedia.
Goals
[edit]Welcome to the WikiProject Data Visualization. The goals of the project are to create, embed, improve and update relevant datagraphics across Wikipedia.
Activities
[edit]- Updating datagraphics used in articles (see e.g. c:Category:Charts showing data through 2010)
- Creating requested datagraphics and new datagraphics using existing data sources
- Adding relevant datagraphics to articles if they are useful (see e.g. Category:Health by country and c:Category:Our World in Data)
- Helping each other in creating datagraphics
- Making sure only datagraphics with solid data sourcing are being used (see e.g. c:Help:Misinformation)
- Adding or improving captions of datagraphics and polishing how they look like
- Making sure datagraphics have proper referencing if sourced from elsewhere
- Anything related to the m:OWID Gadget
- Technical development, bug reporting & ideas relating to datagraphics

Examples
[edit]-
Estimated number of deaths from malaria per 100,000 people per country[1]
-
Chart showing greenhouse gas emissions per person, by country, for countries with the most total emissions, with the area of each column showing total emissions
-
Halogenated gas concentrations 1978-present
Resources
[edit]- Wikipedia:Graphs and charts
- Many studies contain datagraphics, see c:Commons:Files from studies for information on how to find and upload them
- Wikimedia Commons already has many datagraphics – see c:Category:Data graphics
- PubMed allows exporting results as csv with the "Download CSV" button in the top right for number of studies per year for the query.
- Free tools to create datagraphics with (e.g. from csv files) include kst, Gnuplot, LabPlot, (add more here)
- Wikipedia:Timeline
Request datagraphics
